EOHHS IT DATA STORAGE CONSOLIDATION
We’ve completed a weeklong series of meetings within the EOHHS SCIO IT services community explaining “WAVE ONE” of the transfer of 61 positions to IDT in Chelsea, along with the DATA STORAGE SERVERS (hardware) over the next 18 months. EOHHS has approximately 700 IT Professionals. With the transfer of data storage, the consolidation of IT Services will continue. EOHHS has already been leading the way by accomplishing much of what is planned. Other secretariates are following on their timetables developed with our State’s CIO. NAGE is very close to signing a Memorandum of Understanding that sets forth the details for accomplishing the transfer of positions to IDT. Our meetings with the Commonwealth have been both productive and constructive, honoring our Contract Bargaining Agreement and aimed at providing opportunities for state employees to develop career paths, while avoiding layoffs.
